Since centuries, velvet has been considered a rich and elegant fabric, looking royal in each and every form it is presented to us. It is very obvious that the velvet trend is here to stay during the London Fashion Week fall 2017, but while a simple velvet outfit was more visible at New York Fashion Week, we got to witness printed velvets in different hues at LFW. One might think how different or interesting can it get, but the designers have taken the audience by surprise with their fabulous collections this fall. Such as Peter Pilotto’s head-to-toe fuchsia with a blend of burnt yellow and faded violet hinting towards flashes of the Ottoman Empire at Erdem. Also, we were quite intrigued to see that stunning midi dress at Mary Katrantzou’s show with those extremely vivid colors and jellyfish appliqué. Another fabric that symbolizes class is fur, and as we expected it, this fall too fur makes us fall in love with it once again. We get to see long fur coats with gorgeous embellishments such as bedazzled broaches and colorful adornments. These were seen on colored fur in collections by Erdem, Simone Rocha, Toga, and Isa Arfen.
