PRIMROSE YELLOW

As discussed in the introduction to Spring 2017 colors, it’s not only about vivid bright colors but also soft and muted colors, one being Primrose Yellow. This shade of yellow is considered uplifting, creating a warm effect such as sunny and joyful. As we can recall, this hue derives its name from the lovely primrose flower, and is seen creating magic on the Spring 2017 runway. Dries Van Noten used this pretty color for monochromatic pieces as well as for flower-inspired prints on some black or white staples. Also, at Milan Fashion Week, we noticed how awe-struck Emilio Pucci was in his line of calf-length dresses and pleated boots. Otherwise, at Gucci’s show, Alessandro Michelle presented this hue giving it more drama on ruffled dresses with poetic sleeves, and Alexis Mabille used this color to enhance pretty evening gowns and casual blouses. Do use this color if you want a muted soft color tone as it is highly vulnerable to any outfit, being a blouse, dress or an evening gown.
