VERY LONG COATS VS. SHORT COATS

A coat’s length is very subjective to a person’s preferences and lifestyle. Such as a mother of a baby won’t wear a super long coat as she needs something comfortable so that she can run behind her baby. Likewise, an entrepreneur won’t wear a leather jacket to work as it won’t look professional and compliment her position. Nonetheless, super long coats are very much in trend, sweeping the floor and making heads turn. This winter, these long coats are seen in different materials, from colourful faux furs to leather and suede. For instance, at The Row’s show, there were stunning brown leather coats. Also, military-style long coats in khaki were seen at Topshop Unique, and red edged at Burberry. Otherwise, there were also wraparound ones with furry finishing in Christopher Kane’ winter line, and authentic English looks of Mulberry designs. What people admired a lot were Roberto Cavalli’s embellished coats with elaborate embroidery. The previous year, the actual coat length was at ankle level, but this year with so many designers proving how gorgeous floor-length ones look, you can seriously consider trying it out. You might also wonder if short coats are still in vogue, and yes this winter coats are cropped to quite an extent, being shorter and above the knees. So now you know that you can keep it short or even go long, as long as you keep it simple.
