The Velvety Touch

Velvet always evokes elegance and luxe with its deep and intense colors as well as different prints and embroideries and cuts. It is an expensive fabric due to its texture and look with that natural sheen on it. Fall/winter 2016 colors add further grace to velvet, and this time we see them paired with pantsuits inspired by the 1980s with a modern touch. Some designers who have proved how marvellous velvet looks this winter are Phillip Lim, Prabal Gurung and DKNY. Gurung’s wild fuchsia sporty outfits were very well matched with the same color boots, while the stunning velvet and lace combination seen at DKNY’s show couldn’t have looked more fabulous with layered velvet. You also get to witness beautiful velvet collections in shows by Dries Van Noten, Kenzo, H&M, Valentino and Vetements.
