When you think of pretty and girly gowns with a touch of delicacy and abundance elegance, you know that it is Carolina Herrera. This Venezuelan-American fashion designer has always evoked the feminine beauty in an obvious yet discreet and delicate manner, keeping away from too much bling. Herrera’s show took place at the Frick Collection Art Museum in Manhattan, it being the second time to display her stunning line. Herrera stated, “I want to see women looking beautiful, but in an actual way, not in the past. I’m very pro new technology. We should go to the future.” And Herrera stuck by her word with her awe-inspiring realistic 3D floral cut-outs rather than some floral prints and applique. The show began with a glen-plaid shift dress with two floral columns stretching down and presenting layers of flowers. Also, she used another technique as well on an ivory shift dress with three pretty flowers stamped on the fabric with visible shadows to make it look more realistic. Her beautiful collection was all about flowers, from 3D ones to shadowy ones and the likes. What was also very much appreciated was the black bell-sleeved tulle dress with abundant white flowers placed in an uneven and scattered manner. Herrera muted between monochromatic ornaments and more rich embellishments. She also introduced some warm outfits such as a platinum grey blouse, a silver vest, or an imperceptible jacket, which you can choose to keep you away from the cold winter coming up.

keep you away from the cold winter coming up.
