One of Gucci’s famous quotes is “the bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from the memory.” Gucci’s fall/winter 2016-2017 RTW line displays a lot of different fashion trends and accessories, for instance those puffed sleeves over a white double-breasted coat that opened the show. Also, there was a black jacket with golden embroidery and a knitted blouse with some parrots that stood out. Other trends visible at the Gucci show were club wear shimmery outfits, mandarin collar dresses, crimson cherub inspired prints on a skirt or on a strapless gown with a heart-shaped neckline. Surprisingly, the collection’s highlight was due to wild life inspirations such as snakes, roaring panthers, parrots, and wise owls among others. There was a very noticeable black tulle gown evoking a lot of drama with ruffles in a multiple fashion and opera gloves with this realistic snake embroidery creeping from the model’s chest, while another snake on a silk pink dress had three heads. You might think what of this collection could possible be seen on the red carpet; nonetheless there were some very glamorous outfits such as the green silk frock with gigantic ruffles on its sleeves as well as on the hems; a pale peach colored tulle dress with a spreading rainbow, and a translucent gown decorated with 3D red flowers and green leaves. So look out for a lot of drama and the “oomph factor” in Gucci’s seasonal collection.
