Cavalli's Filigree

Roberto Cavalli is known for his striking prints and, and off late there have been various visible changes influenced by recently appointed creative director Peter Dundas. The first look worth mentioning were shinny trousers with a high-waist and cinched with a vintage-inspired belt, pattern embossed shirt with buttons, and a black fur coat worn on top. Whereas, the last look of the show inclined more towards the futuristic in metallic and silver pants, a rounded tank top, with a chic scarf worn around the neck and a black and metallic gold printed coat. Living up to its name, this famous fashion house again displayed marvelous animal prints with plunging necklines designs with lace in jewel tones and translucent fabrics, particularly a lacy amethyst shaded dress with layered ruffles. There was a lot going on at Cavalli’s show, with velvet, chiffon, lace, leather, fur, silk and fringes, ruffles and layered ensembles along with systematic cutouts all over the silhouettes. From the 61 outfits on the runway, there were both men and women’s collections, although focusing more on women’s wear. What is certain is that some top celebrities will surely flaunt the Cavalli RTW line especially at award ceremonies or gala nights.
