Francisco Costa, Calvin Klein’s creative director, presented another memorable collection at New York Fashion Week with shades of black, white, and purple. The Calvin Klein RTW line started off with a pantsuit, trousers with hanging strips, similar to last season’s looks. There was a blend of office wear and sleepwear as these trousers were worn under a delicately tailored jacket over a loose-fitted silk tank top. There was a smooth transition from the masculine tailored suit to the feminine dresses, with the latter’s hemlines creating a drastic change. For example, a stunning plaid jacket with a fur collar was merged with a skirt of the matching fabric but nobody could say from one side where it ended. In other words, the extremely high slit vanished into the underskirt. What really stood out was the fur, and lynx was used at times as well as skunk.
