Many of us consider flowers to be part of the summer season, but the fall-winter 2016-2017 runway is proving us wrong. We get to see flowers in flocks as garment prints or accessory shapes, but just in muted tones and frozen shades. Prada’s rose-shaped vintage chokers and bracelets over gloves are so pleasing to the eyes. What Gucci displayed were delicate bubble gum flower brooches and metallic floral pendants, while Diane Von Furstenberg’s floral chokers are simply beautiful. There were also designers who have brought a real touch to flowers such as Rodarte, in clustered wrap-around cuff earrings, necklaces, and hair accessories. Inspiration from the wildlife was also present with Anna Sui’s butterflies and dragonflies and fierce tigers on Gucci’s belts, handbags, and earrings.
