Jeanne Paquin and Paul Poiret were early French fashion designers who used fur quite often in their collections. Therefore, by the 1930’s, fur was used in abundance by designers as trim for coats, collars and cuffs. In 2000 many designers used in furs such as: Miuccia Prada used tippet and racoon; Albert Ferretti’s collection had hamster fur; Narciso Rodriguez’s fox fur was interesting; Galliano used chinchilla; Marc Jacob’s mink was stunning; and Gaultier used sable fur. And nowadays, designers like Micheal Kors, Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Vera Wang. Fall 2016 has a lot of designers opting for a more eco-friendly fur that is faux to flaunt their fall collections even though some women consider faux to be of no value and unattractive. Hence this season, top designers such as Fendi, Valentino, and Michael Kors have included very fashionable and colourful short and long, oversized cuts and prints in fur, at times taking inspiration from the 80’s and 90’s.
