Capes have been in vogue since last year, presenting themselves on dresses, gowns, pants, and sarees. Fall 2016 has more capes and ponchos with modified looks, such as Emilio Pucci’s star-studded ankle-length printed capes over stunning slip dresses. While, Chloe’s cape coats were quite a sight in themselves, and Bottega Veneta’s capes were possible inspired by the batman look in white. Designers such as Simon Rocha took it to another level by using the wraparound technique for the capes and Lanvin’s Morrocan-inspired prints with an urban touch looked exceptionally unique. Also, Chanel’s “new Bourgeoisie” look was admired by many and Sonia Rykiel’s cape line included jumpsuits, velvets, and keyhole slits. Delpozo’s red capes were simply divine with transparent pink turtlenecks underneath.
