The Long Sleeve Effect

Have you ever wished you had long sleeves which resemble wings at times? Well this fall, long sleeves have been all over the runway. Of course, as winter is approaching one does expect long- sleeved outfits rather than sleeveless. Most of the times, long sleeves are hidden under thick jackets, coats, and blazers. At times, even sweater-like dresses are so interesting that you never notice on the sleeves. Nonetheless, fall 2016-2017 has many of the renowned designers creating fabulous long sleeves that strike out and make a statement. Roksanda’s purple coats and Marques’ Almeida’s huge letter jackets have stunning large sleeves. Also Mulberry has used the layering technique for its long sleeves and AF Vandevost takes an eccentric approach by using a wraparound belt creating a mask over the face, and matching it with the cord knit sweater dress in red with those exceptionally long sleeves. You can always opt for a simple silhouette with extra-long sleeves keeping the prints simple with subtle tones so that you don’t attract too much attention.
