Yesterday, uniform dressing was emphasized on, giving the runway a 1980’s British and French military look. Therefore we need to discuss this more in length as it is one of this fall’s most influential trends. The military style is seen on coats or khaki pieces worn on top. Simpler and longer versions of it were present at Topshop Unique’s show, and with red edges in Burberry’s collection. Military coats were also visible in navy blue color, giving it a nautical look. Other designers who brought this military trend in navy on the runway were Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, John Galliano, Prada, and RED Valentino. The hand-stitched words such as Love and phrases on the military-inspired jackets with translucent dresses and skirts beneath just took the audience by surprise and admiration.
