Groove It With The Fringe

As mentioned in the previous blog, a lot of designers have taken inspiration from the 1970’s and 1980’s trends, one of them being the fringe. As you might recall, the fringe made its way through this spring and continued till the summer, and now the fall. The whole beauty of it lies in its movement, as when you walk it moves and if you dance it will take you back to the retro era. The fringe is a fantastic embellishment or finishing used to jazz up anything from a pair of pants to a jacket or even a dress. This season, Altuzarra’s fringes give the designs a wilder and chic look, and Proenza Schouler’s zany fish themed outfits have fringes not only on the dresses but even on the shoes. Also, Sally LaPointe’s fringed skirts look gorgeous as well as Edun’s fringed only on half of the body. Other designers who have flaunted fringes in their fall lines are Marchesa, Burberry, Ninna Ricci, Valentino, Ralph Lauren and Balmain.
