What not we are getting to see this coming fall, from all types of prints to sober and loud hues in a wide variety of fabrics and textures. You would think that stars, hearts and butterflies look best during the summer as they are more nature-oriented themes. Nonetheless, lots of designers were seen using them in their pre-fall collections this year. Extremely lively sceneries were visible at Alexander McQueen’s show, highlighting maxi dresses and black wool or leather coats with abundant fluttering butterflies along with other objects. Also, Zuhair Murad who is known to create these absolutely stunning ensembles full of elegance and sensuality, presented silk and suede minis, full skirts and leggings, all adorned with shimmery butterflies. Otherwise, hearts and stars were seen in Mary Katrantzou’s pre-fall line, following a certain order overpowered by humongous butterflies as the design if a pleated tulle dress. Anna Sui rather chose to cluster hearts and stars in one area of each outfit, making it simple neat and clear. Vetements gave it a more rough appeal as his thigh-high leather boots had pistols, swords and Love Hate words in the center. Whereas Gucci’s Pre-fall collection was full of eccentric motifs and bold graphics in snakes, cats, hearts and butterflies in metallic heavyweight tartan and silks in loud colors.
