Tinsel Town...Lilac Periwinkle

Pinks are normally used for the bright summer and purples for the dark winter. What fits in between both is a lilac, and this summer it is blended in with blue to create a periwinkle lilac. This interesting bluish lilac shade is visible throughout the runway shows. Akris chose to use it against a white background, making it look so lovely, and looked awesome at Aluzarra's show. What caught the audience's attention was also Roland Mouret's halter midi dress in this stunning color. Vivienne Westwood proved what a fairy tale color it is in her collection inspired by the Alice In Wonderland theme. Also, other designers whose collections lighted up with this suave yet impacting color were Haider Ackermann, Vivetta and Jil Sanders at the Milan Fashion Week. Periwinkle Lilac looks prettiest when worn as a cocktail gown with flair as it gives a very princess-like feel. But if you are the experimental types, you can try wearing a denim in this color as it gives a funky look.
