Plaids And Checks

When two trends are merged together, the result is mostly spectacular, this time being plaid and checkered patterns. These were seen in Miu Miu’s belted and unbelted shirts and jackets. There was also a hint of this style in the Marc Jacobs collection. You should also consider that nowadays the blown-out plaid is quite in vogue, rather than clean lines of gingham, and tartan among others. The audience is relating this trend to the ‘90s prints with reflections of grunge style and taking it a notch higher in elegance. What is different in this spring’s fashion trend is that this time there is less focus on romantic dresses in gingham pastels and tartans in reds, greens and blues. This season plaid patterns are combined with checks to create outstanding outfits in shades of brown, grey and dusty yellow, such as Stella McCartney’s, Victoria Beckham’s and Celine’s enlarged, mixed together and twisted plaids. If you want to style-up this current trend u can flaunt it as a maxi dress or a jumpsuit as with elongated outfits you can mix and match both the plaids and the checkered prints further. And when it comes to selecting the colors for them always remember that the base color should be a light color if the plaids or checks are dark as the contrasting effect is simply mind-blowing. You don’t want too much to be happening at one time so it’s better to focus on the technique and placement of these plaids and checks rather on than too many colors.
