Tie It And Dye It

Every time we think that tie-dye is fading away it comes back on the runway. This spring too many designers experimented different looks and techniques in tie-dye and left us wanting more. This was seen in colorful palettes at the BCBG Max Azria, Raquel Allergra and Altuzarra shows. What also caught one’s attention is patchwork blended in with tie-dye, creating a very beach-inspired appearance. What also created a flowy casual feel was Bohemian style and floppy hats were also part of this tie-dye trend. The beauty of this technique is that it makes a strong statement by itself so you don’t need to tam it up with something else to look stunning. For instance, a casual tank top with denims can be worn with a tie-dye cotton vest or jacket with fringes. It even goes well at a resort when you want to wear a tie-dye kaftan over your swimwear. Otherwise tie-dye has also taken over accessories such as chick handbags and stunning pumps. Some fashion forecasters also saw a trait of the 1970’s with all the tie-dye shirts, pants and dresses on the runway.
